How to Create Homemade Insect Repellent Lotion Bars

Summer is just around the corner, and as we gear up for outdoor adventures, it's essential to stay protected from pesky bugs. Ingredients You'll Need:

• 1 cup coconut oil

• 1 cup cocoa butter or shea butter (or you can use a combination of the two)

• 1 cup beeswax

• 30 drops of Rosemary essential oil (add Lavender essential oil if you'd like to repel ticks too)

• Silicone molds or metal tins (you can even choose a fun shape such as flies!) Note: Silicon molds make it easier to pop the bars out at the end :)

Step-by-Step Instructions:

• Begin by melting all the ingredients, except the essential oil(s), in a double boiler. You can make your own double boiler by putting a glass bowl over a medium-sized pan.

• Bring the water to a boil until the ingredients are melted.

• Once the ingredients are melted, remove the bowl from the heat.  Let the mixture cool slightly, and then add in essential oil(s).

• Stir well until all the ingredients are combined.

• Pour the mixture into the molds.

• Allow the mixture to cool completely, and then pop the bars out of the molds.
  

Ready to Use: Your homemade insect repellent lotion bars are now ready to use!

• Simply rub the bar onto your skin for a natural bug repellent solution!

• Store in an airtight container for up to one year.
